Boundary measurement

Are you interested in knowing the actual area of your rural property?

Does your deed only mention "trees", "boundaries", "jobs", "roads", etc., which are now difficult to locate in the field and this makes it difficult for you to be certain of their boundaries?


All these concerns are resolved with a technical measurement of boundaries , complying with the rules of Resolution 643 of 2018 of the IGAC (Agustín Codazzi Geographic Institute) and SNR (Superintendency of Notaries and Registry). This makes them valid for any cadastral, registration, lawsuit or complaint procedure, partitions, successions, declaring boundaries with coordinates, among others.
Something very important about technical measurements is that they have ties, double determination and a
written report signed by a qualified professional. Without these parts a measurement is worthless .

  • A topographic survey is a technical procedure carried out with a total station or a GPS device that allows you to take official coordinates to a stable point or boundary marker on your property. This procedure must be supported by the report that accompanies the measurement.

  • Double determination consists of measuring the boundary using two different methods: photogrammetry (orthophoto) and GPS device, or total station and GPS device, or two measurements with GPS device at different times. In this way, the cadastral authority can verify the quality of the work .

  • A measurement is valid if it is accompanied by a report signed by a qualified professional that supports the procedures used to carry out and verify the mooring, the double determination of the boundaries, the results of each of the measurements and the comparison of the results.
